Would you consider Asthma patients In The Novel AH1N1 Flu virus High Risk List?

Author: Orly Racelis
Medical reports from Center for Disease Control (CDC) have shown that more than 30% of the AH1N1 patients have asthma. So it if you have a history of asthma it is better to make sure you take all the obligatory protective measures to avoid being infected with the said virus.

How can we avoid it? These are the recommendations I gathered from the health journals and organization guidelines:

* Do not socialize with feverish people.
* Thoroughly clean your hands with soap before eating and refrain
from touching your mouth and eyes often.
* Cover-up your mouth while coughing or use handkerchief when sneezing.
* Keep an eye on your community's health status daily.
* Prevent from travelling to infected countries if you can.
* Refrain from sleeping late at night and do not over work.
* Follow healthy diet practice and observe your exercise schedule faithfully.
* Make certain you have enough of respirator masks at home.

Although there is no vaccine developed yet for this novel AH1N1 flu virus, there are anti viral drugs available in the market. The use of oseltamivir or zanamivir is being proposed by the Centers for Disease Control of USA for the remedy and/or the protection of the novel swine flu virus. These anti-viral drugs are in the forms of liquid, pills and inhalers. These drugs prevent the flu virus from keeping multiplying in our bodies. It prevents you from serious illness at the same time it makes you feel better faster.

In summary, asthmatic patients should know all the information about the h1n1 flu virus symptoms and how to avoid it. Call your health center provider if you have suspicion you or someone from your family has the sign of illness. Definitely, by observing protective actions within our homes, you can refrain from being infected and help avert the multiply of this infectious flu. Observe health practice always and stay away from public places as much as possible.
